ITW or Illinois Tool Works was set up in Chicago in 1912. It is still headquartered there to this day. The company has grown and diversified considerably from these humble beginnings. ITW has 850 factories world wide employing 60,000 people. Our global turnover is in excess of $17 billion per annum. There are 33 ITW business units operating in England, Scotland and Wales. They directly employ 5000 people. In Ireland there are 13 ITW companies employing 2,100 people.

ITW manufactures a wide range of products. The company focuses on a number of specific industries namely automotive, construction, food processing, electronics, decorative surfaces and industrial packaging. ITW Crop Packaging is a member of the stretch film group. This group is responsible for producing 70,000 tonnes of pallet and silage wrapping films annually. There are 3 factories located in Gorey and Waterford in Ireland and Virton in Belgium. The group also manufactures pallet wrappers in Finland. The group has an annual turnover of €250 million.
Other well known ITW brands include Welding Products UK, Signode packaging, Avery Berkel food equipment, Plexus Adhesives, Zip Pak reseal able packaging and Hi-Cone multi pack carriers for drink cans and bottles.

ITW Crop Packaging commenced operations in Gorey in 1996. A great year in Wexford as the county won the senior hurling all Ireland title. This plant manufactures Silawrap and pallet wrapping films. In excess of 60% of Silawrap sales are in the UK and Ireland. We currently have 30% of the Irish market and 15% of the UK market. To date we are pleased that over 5 million rolls have been manufactured and sold world wide.
